West of Lawton on US-62.
Living in Cache
Small town at the foot of the Wichita Mountains.
Cache sits west of Lawton along US-62, with the Wichita Mountains rising just to the north. It has its own school district and its own main street, and Lawton's west side is a straight shot down the highway.
One practical thing to know before you shop here: homes inside city limits are typically on city water, while properties outside them may be on rural water and a septic system. I'll tell you which a home has before you tour it.
What's here
- The Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge next door
- Comanche Nation heritage sites, including Quanah Parker's Star House
- US-62 access to west Lawton and Fort Sill

In-town neighborhoods plus homes on acreage outside city limits, where you'll want to ask about wells, rural water, and septic.
Schools
Most addresses here are served by Cache Public Schools. Attendance zones can split a neighborhood, so confirm the schools for a specific address with the district. The state publishes a report card for every public school at Oklahoma School Report Cards.
Getting to Fort Sill
Drive time depends on the gate you use and the time of day, and gate hours change. The reliable way to check is to map it from a specific address at the hour you'd be driving.
